Porting it to this game should be really simple for a dedicated enough programmer, making this mod make even more sense, even if fewer will download it having such niche hardware requirements. Especially since this will give otherwise idle RT cores something to do. The source code of this game is out there which means 8k will make a lot of sense if we upscale from around 5k up to 8k using a port to DLSS. Before you complain, I dont do I dont care level mods and max out all x86 so it cannot be improved without programming sorcery. The way levels compile means only a slice of this absurdly large file can be used at a time which is why its so big. The game being 99% just straight up textures with no normal maps or widespread specular maps means the texture resolutions in general are higher than for example DOOM 3 which came out the year after because all the budget can go into that narrow type instead of spreading it out across several. Loading times will increase SUBSTANTIALLY, however, the games requirements are not demanding and as a result are unknown at this time. This mod will require a 4k screen to make any sense and is going to be really useful for people with 8k screens in the future. ![]()
